My Philosophy

Concept

The book I'm indexing "tells" me which concepts and terms should be included in the index.  I then add alternate access points as needed and organize them in the way that best fits the book.

Complexity

The complexity of the index reflects the complexity of the book.

Creation

I carefully create thorough indexes that include the ideas and nuggets of information in the book.  If space constraints do not allow for the optimal index, I carefully edit the index to include as much information as possible in the space allowed.
